Noraebang (or 노래방 in Hangul) translates literally to "song room" in Korean, or to put it simply Karaoke.
The song initially started as an instrumental I had come across on producer laXed's Instagram, and I had contacted him, asking if I could topline over the top, and thus this track was born.
I had written this about the dynamic of relationships, not necessarily just romantic, but the bonds that people make between each other and how they tend to drift apart when dynamics change over time.
lyrics
Fate ordains that dearest friends must part*
Although that seems counter productive
What remains are scenes teach the art
The art of leaving, once you love them
People change like seasons come and go
Although that seems like an assumption
From winds that blew us back and forth; to and fro
To superseding sun above them.

You got me sitting at a noraebang at 2am
with people I don't know
and people I don't care for
I guess it's better off that way x4
Last name is Ola, it means 'life' in Samoan
Please don't fucking tell me it means 'Hello' like I didn't know
People lean hard on me, wanna get close to me
Saw me on the telly, now they're telling me that we should meet.
Faafetai, faafetai tele lava, Aua ke pepelo** telling me you treat me like a lover. Like a lover - Wise words from a motherfucker
Keen to be seen as a player, not a has been.

Discovered her by chance via her 1st record, 'Seoulight'. I loved the freshness of the album. I recommend listening to her on long journeys home. 'Romance in Seoul' and 'Polar Bear' my favourites. Bohifale
Have always loved how they use guitars in all their records. I close my eyes and transported to memories I associate with specific tunes. 'Daydream' 'Sleep Apnea' and 'This Year' are my favourites. Bohifale
The first and so far only live gig I've been to is by Laura. I enjoy approach to music and her sense of humour in her lyrics. 'When it all falls apart', 'Looking for a Rabbit' and 'Tricks' are great! Bohifale
The first single from the forthcoming full-length from Gileah Taylor is a hushed, lovely folk number with a quietly moving melody. Bandcamp New & Notable Feb 23, 2024
